David and I got together a couple of weeks ago to shoot some pictures for an editorial I had in mind. We also ended up taking pictures for a certain iPhone app (which has partly made him app famous), but that is another post for another day. I wanted a semi-gritty feel to the pictures so we choose to go down to my car garage to capture some images. Luckily, no one was around to pay attention to our debauchery. David is an incredibly nice guy and made the whole shoot a breeze. Seriously, sometimes I didn’t even have to tell him what to do. It was as if he knew what I was thinking and would just do it even before I blurted out direction.

THE GETTY VILLA :: MALIBU

I’ve had a pretty crazy number of visitors these last couple of weeks. I love it because it means I also get to explore this new city I live in. There is a lot of first times for me as well still in Los Angeles. The other day we took a drive too Malibu and we happened to drive by The Getty Villa. After scoring some tickets (without making reservations) we drove up to the hills and took in some spectacular sights before watching the sunset in some Malibu beaches.
If you are ever in Los Angeles, I would definitely recommend a trip to visit both [The Getty Center] and The Getty Villa. Stunning.
JAKE BLEY :: EDITORIAL :: NOIR

Jake has been traveling Asia and the United States for a couple of weeks now as a gift to himself for finishing his degree. While he was in Los Angeles, we took had a couple of sessions (for a good reason; look at him). It has been such a blast working with him lately and he is a complete natural behind the camera. This won’t be the only editorial you will see him in this month!
I wanted a really cool black and white set of pictures and he delivered!
