DK’S EPIC BIRTHDAY BASH : LAS VEGAS : ROUND 1

Epic. Armored Party Bus. Making it rain. Justin Bieber. Food. Vodka. Drinking games. Whites. Non-Whites. Birthday. Hangover. Insane. Dancing. Shots. Piranha. Mix. Cosmopolitan. Palms Place. Poor Palms. Suite. Lindsay Lohan. Dry Heaving. Brunch. Open Bar. Lacrosse. 

So many people have asked me how last weekend in Las Vegas was. I just freeze, stare off into the distance, try to pick a point on where to start explaining, but I can’t. I just can’t. Dennis, the birthday man himself, said it best:

“I’m pretty sure, however, that I will fail to accurately convey just how amazing this weekend was. It was definitely of those “You had to be there” kind of things, where there were just so many hilarious happenings and inside-jokes, and snarky comments and witticisms, that it is impossible to fully describe and that to an outsider is probably just eye-rolling-ly excessive and obnoxious.”

The internet and social media is how I met Dennis. It wasn’t until this year that I physically met him, but ever since finding [his blog], I feel like I’ve known him for years. I even felt like I knew his closest friends as crazy as that sounds. So when he invited me to Las Vegas to photograph his incredible 30th Birthday Bash, it was a no brainer.

Like I said, I just won’t even bother trying to explain every little detail. It would be impossible for me. Dennis asked everyone to list the ten best moments of the trip. So I will do that here.

1. Meeting all these amazing people I have read about and seen for SO LONG on Egg Fury. It was like meeting celebrities.
2. Running around Vegas trying to find just ONE fan (to help all the bills flow when making it rain) but finding none. Vegas, has no fans.
3. Never Say Never.
4. um. The party suite which I was allowed to stay in
5. Rolling up to Piranha, blasting full J-LO after singing Disney songs, with Diana yelling “this ride could literally have not been gayer!”
6. Jesse looking me dead in the eye on a cab ride home and saying “You aren’t SMILEYJohn!”
7. Weekend at Bernies Dancing
8. Pretty much anything Smiley John said to me the entire trip.
9. “Is this what poor people have to do? – Me
10. Non stop laughter at the Wicked Spoon brunch. 

So here ya go. Round 1 of two posts. To all of those who attended that might be reading this… Thank you. Thank you so much for being so incredible and welcoming me into such a great great group of people. Dennis is really lucky and you have all set the bar for turning 30.

 

Boom. Out came the party cam (good thing I left the fancy camera at home because…. I don’t even want to think about it)
